14 splendid hikes await you!Discover the picturesque landscape of the “Black Forest Nature Park” all around Unterkirnach – one of the most beautiful holiday destinations in Germany. The Black Forest is not known as the classic hiking area for nothing. Explore the breathtaking surroundings of Unterkirnach on Schusters Rappen, as a Nordic walker or by bicycle.
It is an “addictive” holiday pleasure. The rarely driven roads and peaceful hiking trails provide the ideal conditions for nature enthusiasts. This is ensured by the approx. 130 km of hiking trails all around the Unterkirnach health resort. Throughout the Black Forest, the trails are well sign-posted and uniform. We have arranged 14 long and short, easy and difficult hikes for every age and every requirement.
Of course information about rest stops and service areas is also included. What would a hike be without a good, hearty rest stop? And not forgetting the famous Baden hospitality and the Black Forest zest for life. To make sure you come back from your holiday or hike fully recuperated.
Did you know?
The approx. 6,000 hectare forest surrounding the community of Unterkirnach belongs to the city of Villingen-Schwenningen. The municipal forestry office decides which trails can be marked by communities and the Black Forest Association.
Guided hikes
The tourist office invites you to join a guided hike once a week. Go with our guides Karl Wei?r or Johann Krieger on a discovery tour. Explore hidden paths, and learn about the flora, fauna and people in and around Unterkirnach. Participation is free of charge with your Unterkirnach guest card.

Hiking is for everyone!
During the summer holidays, we have great family hiking tours for all our guests, young and old alike. Our hiking guide Manfred Zimmerer will take you into the depths of the Black Forest and will tell you a few tales about robbers. Minimum number of participants: 4 adults Car pools are arranged to travel to the start of the hiking trail. Pre-reservations can be made in the Tourist Information Centre of Unterkirnach. Subject to change due to weather conditions.
