We Unterkirnachers are very proud of our great infrastructure. Small though it is, our village has quite a lot to offer. Our wonderful drinking water comes from the many crystal clear natural springs in the forest. The Kirnach River is dammed and provides electricity in peak periods. In the wastewater treatment plant where there are reed beds for the disposal of sewage sludge, wastewater is biologically degraded. Great for such a small village, isn’t it?
What makes us so popular with day-trippers and holiday guests are our wonderful leisure and holiday facilities. Comfortable, safe and well-indicated hiking trails are greatly appreciated by our hiking enthusiastic guests and local visitors. Our play barn with Tanni’s adventure land and the little aqualino swimming pool are popular throughout the region and beyond. The multitudes of free activities – available for our guests upon presentation of their guest card – make everyone’s visit here an unforgettable experience.
Beaming children’s faces
So many wonderful things to do. Beaming children’s faces, carefree and happy – this is what family holidays are all about in Unterkirnach. And we have a lot to offer. There are all kinds of things to discover throughout the entire resort – at any time of year. Super cool adventure playgrounds invite you to come and play. Whether it’s sailing dressed as a pirate on the water raft, or going down the slide at high speed – here you can do just about anything.
Did you already meet our cow Uli? Tanni’s little animal barn is an absolute must-see. Still haven’t seen enough? Then it’s off to Tanni’s Discoverer-Rally around the Talsee. Our children’s site map will show you the many, great places we have to offer. Have fun!
Tanni’s little animal barn
Animals up close – you are right in the middle of it all in Tanni’s little animal barn in Unterkirnach. From Monday-Friday at 3:00 p.m. you can help feed Uli the cow and Piggeldy and Frederick the piglets. Of course there are also many other animals: such as rabbits and goats.
Feeding times changed during the Christmas season (until January 6th). Actual feeding times are available in the Tourist Information Centre (+49 (0) 7721 8008-37).
Minigolf
Young golfers and passionate minigolfers can find the Unterkirnach minigolf facility at the Gasthaus “Schlossbergstuben” (Hotel). Tucked away in a lush natural setting, here you can spend a wonderful morning or afternoon with children and bowling. The golf clubs are available for free in the Schlossbergstube upon presentation of your Ferienland guest card. On Mondays (as the Hotel restaurant is closed), golf clubs and balls can be obtained in the Tourist Information Centre. Deposit: EUR 5.00 per club.
In the paradisiacal Schlossberg Kinderland, your wildest dreams will come true. Sail over the water on rafts like little hobby captains. Or if you prefer it high and airy, float over abysses and water by cable car. Racing drivers are invited to high speed sliding fun. Never-ending action and adventure. The Schlossberg is a virtual training ground for future survival experts.
Have fun riding a pony
In Haus Gerda with Mrs. Kiewel in Oberkirnach, Uhlbachweg 4, ponies are looking forward to meeting you. There is also a little petting zoo there, where you can visit many other animals. Please call Frau Kiewel in advance if you would like to ride the ponies. Tel.: +49 (0) 7724 3964

Directions from Unterkirnach
Go towards Oberkirnach and after the first ski lift on the left-hand side, turn left at the first street onto Uhlbachweg. Then it is only about another 800 m to house number 4, “Haus Gerda”.
Fishing on Talsee in Unterkirnach
Unterkirnach guests with a valid German fishing license (in association with the sport fishing examination) have the opportunity to go fishing on the Talsee. A daily permit costs EUR 12 with the Unterkirnach guest card (upon return of catch statistics, EUR 2 will be reimbursed)
- Maximum catch per day: 3 trout
- Closed season from October 1 to March 31
- Daily permits can be obtained from the Tourist Information Centre.
